Local artist and illustrator - Owen Mathers

We set out on our Norfolk Doggy Deli journey to not only to keep your pups’ bellies full of our natural dog biscuits but also to showcase the amazing talent that Norfolk has to offer. On a trip to deliver our biscuits to Hodson & Co Cheese Room with Deli we learnt about top talent, Owen Mathers, a local artist and illustrator.

It was humbling how he turned what was a hobby into a professional business, much the same as the origins of Norfolk Doggy Deli. He’s worked with some amazing brands such as Battersea and Lisa Angel; as soon as we delved deeper into his work, we just knew we needed his expertise to elevate our brand.

After a zoom call (as most ventures start these days) we set him to work to create a handful of artworks that showcase Norfolk in all its glory and splendour. The brief: a Norwich skyline, the dog-walkers guide to Norfolk and the picturesque beach huts of Wells-next-the-Sea. We also couldn’t resist a cheeky portrait of our chief taster and brand ambassador, Willow.

It’s safe to say, we were blown away with what Owen created. He managed to capture exactly what we love about Norfolk in his stunning, colourful artworks; all of which now take pride of place in our home.
